Should I buy the Garmin Nuvi 255W GPS device?

I’m planning on buying this as the reviews from folks have been good and this site says this is one of Amazon’s top sellers in the GPS category.

I have one and they are awsome, exspecially the widescreen, you have to pay for updates. however, they should send you an email if you register it for a free map update

I have used Garmin GPS before and it’s really easy to use. I would recommend it a lot. It helped me out a lot during my trip to Virginia. You can save about $20 if you buy it from Amazon on the “New and Used” section.

doesn’t look like it has text to speech, which is the newest thing on the market for gps. you might want to reconsider your choice and get a gps with text to speech or make sure this one has it. also there are much larger screen gps’s on the market today too, the 4. 3 inch scree is actually small.
i have a 5 inch screen unit with text to speech. it runs igo amigo which is slightly better to me.
