How do you reset an entire Garmin GPS system so that you have to configure it again?

On pcrush.com, I ordered a Garmin c340 navigation system. I didn’t know this, but it came to me refurbished. I am in New York, but it says that I am in Kansas and I also never configured my system because somebody else put in their own settings before me. I also get horrible reception because the system thinks I should be in Kansas. I tried to reset it by removing the frame and pressing the reset button, but it didn’t solve my problem. What should I do?

I would return it and ask for a new one but if anything go to settings and go to factory settings and select that and it should go back to orginal factory setting just like if you bought it new

First try holding down the reset button for 3 seconds, then connecting the c340 to a power source using the power cable.
If that doesn’t work, try a “master reset. ” With the unit off, press and hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Keep holding this and turn the unit on. Hold the corner down for 10 more seconds and the unit should ask for confirmation you want to wipe its data.

Actually, if you remove the faceplate, which could be various colors, you can completely reset your Garmin. Follow these insructions:
1. Place you thumb nail in the groove located under the Garmin logo on the faceplate.
2. Gently pull off the faceplate.
3. Press the Reset button located near the power button and behind the faceplate.
4. Connect your Garmin to a power source using the power cable and follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: If you need to reset your unit often, update the system software. You can update your software by going to http://www. garmin. com/products/webupdater to download the webupdater program.
